Young Adult Volunteer Opportunities

HANGIN WITH A BUD

This program facilitates quality 'one-on-one' time between young adult volunteers and young adults with special needs, affording everyone the opportunity to experience the joy and companionship of friendship. The pair get together in the city on a consistent basis and explore all that NYC has on offer!

Hangin with a Bud can be done in-person or over Zoom, at your preference.

FCYA WEEKLY SOCIALS

Young adults with special needs enjoy a wide range of weekly programs aimed at facilitating socialization with peers and young adult volunteers. The goal of this program is to give young adults with special needs the opportunity to make friends and hang out outside of the home in a fun, safe and relaxed environment.

Each month offers a rotation of the programs listed below

FCYA WEEKLY SOCIALS ROTATION

TRIPS

Young adults of all abilities meet up at cool destinations around NYC to hang out and have a blast. Some favorites are bowling, Dave & Busters, boating, shows and more.

FRIENDSHIP FOODIES

A monthly social outing to kosher restaurants around the city. Participants practice valuable life skills such as ordering food from the menu, paying the bill and counting their change. Most of all, everyone enjoys great food alongside great friends.

HANGIN WITH FRIENDS

Adults of all abilities come together for in-house events such as paint night, talent night, game night and more.

THE JEWISH EXPERIENCE

Shabbat and Jewish Holidays are celebrated together with friends in a meaningful way. Participants enjoy holiday parties, Shabbat dinners, a challah bake, musical havdallah and more.
